Privacy Policy
1. Information we collect
Depending on how you use dar-ion, we may collect the following categories of information:
- Account information: such as your email address, authentication information, subscription tier, and account identifiers.
- Content you provide: prompts, messages, project context, uploaded files, file names, and other material you choose to submit to dar-ion.
- Usage information: feature usage, daily quota activity, plan status, error information, and similar operational data used to run and protect the service.
- Device and browser information: limited technical information such as IP address, browser information, cookies, and local browser storage where needed for authentication, guest limits, security, and site functionality.
- Billing information: subscription and transaction details. Payment card processing is handled by Stripe; dar-ion does not need to store your full payment card number.
- Support communications: information you send when you contact us for help, billing questions, or feedback.
2. How we use information
We use information to provide and maintain dar-ion, authenticate users, save conversations and project data, process subscriptions, enforce usage limits, prevent abuse, troubleshoot issues, secure the service, respond to support requests, and comply with applicable law.
3. AI processing and web features
When you use AI features, the content needed to answer your request may be sent to third-party AI service providers, including OpenAI, for processing. If you use web-enabled features, relevant queries or context may also be used to retrieve information from third-party web sources or search services. Do not submit information you are not authorized to share.
4. Service providers
dar-ion relies on third-party providers to operate the service. These may include OpenAI for AI processing, Supabase for account and application data services, Netlify for hosting and server-side functions, and Stripe for payments and subscription management. These providers process information as needed to perform services for dar-ion and are subject to their own terms and privacy practices.
5. Browser storage, cookies, and guest use
dar-ion may use browser local storage and cookies for features such as chat history, preferences, authentication, guest usage limits, and security. Guest conversations may be stored locally in your browser. Clearing browser storage can remove locally stored information and may affect guest-session continuity.
6. Uploaded files and project data
If you upload files or add project information, that content may be stored with your account so you can use it in later conversations. Selected files or relevant extracted content may be sent to AI providers when you ask dar-ion to analyze or use them. You should upload only content you have the right to use and disclose.
7. Payments
Stripe processes subscription payments, payment methods, invoices, taxes, and related billing information. dar-ion receives subscription and transaction status information needed to provide the correct plan and features, but payment card details are handled by Stripe.
8. How long we keep information
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain security and business records, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. Account and project content may remain until it is deleted or a deletion request is completed, subject to backups, security records, billing records, and legal retention requirements.
9. Sharing and sale of personal information
We do not sell personal information for money. We may share information with service providers that help operate dar-ion, when you direct us to do so, when necessary to protect the service or users, or when required by law.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect information. No online service can guarantee absolute security, and you are responsible for protecting your account credentials and devices.
11. Your choices and privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or other controls over personal information. You may also delete certain chats or files through the product where those controls are available. To make a privacy request, contact us using the information below.
12. Children
dar-ion is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information in violation of this policy, contact us.
13. International users
If you access dar-ion from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. Data-protection rules may differ from those in your country.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as dar-ion changes. We will post the revised version on this page and update the date above. Material changes may also be communicated through the service when appropriate.
